With a view for promotion of IT/ITeS/ESDM/AVGC and E-Waste Management Industry, ensure elctronic delivery of citizen services and core ICT infrastructure in the State for e-Governance and facilitate re-engineering of government process to suit the electronic service delivery and process optimization in the State, Government of Assam, after due consideration published the Information Technology and Electronics Policy, Assam, 2017, to be in effect from 01/01/2018,for a period of 5 years.

Further for promotion of IT/ITeS/ESDM/AVGC and E-Waste Management sector as prime growth engine for employment generation and overall socio-economic development of the State, IT Department has formulated the Operational Guidelines for Disbursement of Incentive under IT and Electronic Policy Assam, 2017 for setting up of industry units in Assam under these sectors. The Department has also launched this portal in October 2020 for implementation of these guidelines and facilitation of incentives for eligible units.
